Sofiprotéol’s business is organised around six main sectors covering the entire food industry and agribusiness chain. We take a particular interest in innovation and projects that foster new outlets. Our actions are mainly focused on the oils and proteins sector, animal product sectors and all arable crop sectors.
Upstream: Agricultural supplies
Committed to supporting sustainable agriculture, Sofiproteol backs the growth of companies that develop solutions and services designed to improve agricultural productivity, while preserving natural resources and biodiversity.
Its investments are focused on companies that develop technologies covering a wide range from seeds to harvesting, which not only respect but also enhance the environment, and contribute to the future of farming.
These investments are designed to meet growing demand for high quality, affordable products in terms of food and animal nutrition and renewable energy and raw materials.
Sofiproteol is thus a strategic partner for the large majority of French seed, nutrition and plant protection companies.
Testimonial – De Sangosse
In 2012, with the committed support of its 730 employees, De Sangosse launched an ambitious development project aimed at boosting its leadership in the Plant Protection and Nutrition market. The project involved investing considerably in a Research and Development programme, and strengthening the company’s international position.
In this area, financing requirements through credit and equity capital turned out to be sizeable, but the partnership with Sofiprotéol made it possible to set up financing solutions in line with the context of the crop input sector, with a long-term, flexible and agile approach that respected the majority employee shareholding and the company’s independence, and was thus in step with the De Sangosse model.
“Global demographic growth places our sector of activity at the heart of a major challenge: covering and securing growing food requirements while proposing a production model that meets societal expectations.”
Nicolas Fillon, CEO
“Global demographic growth places our sector of activity at the heart of a major challenge: covering and securing growing food requirements while proposing a production model that meets societal expectations. Innovation will most certainly be the solution for meeting this challenge. Sharing a vision for the sector, pooling resources and expertise, and innovating in a constantly-changing world are all areas we agree on, and this confirms the rightness of our partnership with Sofiprotéol.”
