Vegetable binders to reduce solvent use

Novance partnered with paint manufacturer Maestria to develop a line of 100% vegetable-based paint binders that are completely free of petrochemical components. These clean, non-toxic paints meet European Ecolabel standards.

The products were the result of 2 years of research, led by Novance and Maestria. They are consistent with the principles of European directive 2004/42/CE, which requires a major reduction in the amount of solvents used in interior paints beginning in 2010.

Performance on par with petrochemical products

With all of its products, Novance aims to provide industrial companies with ecological alternatives that offer the same level of quality as traditional petrochemical products.

For this project, all product characteristics—particularly those related to drying, hardening, washability, and coverage—were studied. This way, Novance can guarantee a high-quality product for its customers.
