DiesterLub

Novance has developed a line of ecological lubricants used by France’s National Forestry Commission.

Biolubricants to replace petrochemical products

Novance uses oleochemistry to develop solutions adapted for industrial applications. One of Novance’s successes is the creation of DiesterLub, a line of biolubricants made from vegetable oils.

Biodegradable, renewable, and environmentally friendly, these products meet the strict Ecolabel standards set by the European Union. They are intended as substitutes for petrochemical products.

DiesterLub approved by France’s National Forestry Commission

Novance has produced a biodegradable vegetable oil for chainsaw chains—an innovation that addresses a real ecological need. Each year, the logging industry uses 150,000 metric tons of oil. This oil remains in the natural environment after use and can pollute soil and groundwater. For this reason, it was necessary to find a more ecological alternative.

DiesterLub was approved by France’s National Forestry Commission in 2008. It won the praise of Commission foresters with its small ecological footprint and technical qualities.

This innovation is consistent with European legislation concerning the production and use of lubricants that cannot be collected after use. In sensitive natural areas, all petrochemical lubricants must be replaced with biolubricants that meet European Ecolabel standards or with biodegradable products.
