Using biomass for energy

Known as BioTfueL, the French program for producing 2^nd generation biodiesel through thermochemistry is developing a chain of procedures that will make it possible to manufacture fuel for diesel motors from rarely used agricultural residues (e.g., logging waste). 

Second generation biofuels will supplement the 1^st generation offer, with even greater ecological returns.

All biomass pre-treating and conditioning operations—roasting in particular—will be tested at Sofiprotéol’s Compiègne site.

An ambitious national program

The BioTfueL program received support from the ADEME Demonstration Fund, a fund that supports innovative 2^nd generation biofuel projects developed following the Grenelle Environment Round Table.
