Renewable energy

Biodiesel producer since 1985, Sofiprotéol, was a pioneer in renewable energy: it takes part in the project BioTfueL second generation biofuels based on lignocellulosic biomass.

Processes that are more economical and ecological

Biodiesel research focuses on production processes. The goal is to develop ways of working that are more economical and environmentally friendly. A new rapeseed esterification process is currently being tested in La Rochelle.

Second generation biodiesel

Sofiprotéol is involved with several other partners in the project BioTfueL: it aims to develop and market a complete chain of processes for producing, by thermochemical, biodiesel and biokerosene, from lignocellulosic biomass (straw, forest residues , dedicated crops ...).

Large-scale cogeneration

Sofiprotéol has teamed up with Cofely (GDF SUEZ group) to develop a cogeneration plant that will run on biomass to provide steam and electricity.
