In 1947, André Glon began producing animal feed in Brittany. His 3 sons took over the company in the 1960s. They have helped transform this family company into one of France’s key agri-food groups.

The Glon Sanders Group joined Sofiprotéol in 2007.

Regional culture, international market

The Group brings together and structures approximately 50 small and medium-sized animal industry businesses located on French soil. These companies are organized around 3 types of activities.

  • Animal nutrition : from production to distribution, under its flagship brand Sanders and its Eolia and Nutrilia lines of feed.
  • Animal health, with the Sogeval laboratory.
  • Processing of animal products :
    • pork,
    • eggs and egg products,
    • poultry,
    • processed products.

French leader in animal nutrition

Thanks to the strength of its 2 national brands, Sanders and Vigala, the Glon Sanders Group has secured its position as the French leader in livestock feed. The Group also develops solutions for livestock farming that aim to improve farmers’ economic performance.

In 2009, the Animal Division :

  • earned 857 million euros in revenue,
  • sold 3 million metric tons of feed in France under the Sanders brand,
  • served 26,000 livestock farming customers,
  • operated 34 industrial sites (including 23 of its own).

An environmental approach

Sustainable development is at the core of the Glon Sanders Group’s strategy. With this in mind, the company launched its Planet Economy Plan in 2008. The plan aims to conserve natural resources and reduce the environmental impact of animal industry activities.
