Research centers
CETIOM, the multi-industry technical center for oilseeds grown in metropolitan France, is the research and development organization for French oilseed producers.
Its executive council includes representatives from businesses across the oilseed industry: oilseed producers, oilseed cooperatives, storage wholesalers, seed producers, seed establishments, oil mills, and technical personnel.
Mission
CETIOM’s top priority is to make oilseed crops more economically competitive at all stages of the value chain, while ensuring sustainable production. Its research focuses mainly on rapeseed, sunflower, soy, and linseed.
In the field, CETIOM helps organizations by using its expert network and experimentation to develop oilseeds. It also maintains ongoing relationships with researchers and industrial companies working upstream (agri supplies) and downstream (processing) from production.
Resources
CETIOM has approximately 110 permanent employees across France, 70% of whom are engineers and technicians. Its research covers all areas related to oilseed production, quality, and markets.
CETIOM relies on :
- 9 experimentation stations and units,
- a technical division of specialists based in Grignon (78),
- a site that specializes in promoting and processing grains in Pessac (33),
- a grain analysis laboratory in Ardon (45),
- a pathology and molecular biology laboratory in Grignon.
Eleven regional development offices provide diagnostics and support for producers in the field.
