Glon Sanders Holding and Glon merge to become Glon-Sanders

After the General Assembly of the Glon Sanders Holding on 29 September, Glon Sanders Holding and Glon merged to become Glon-Sanders.

Expur S.A., previously held by the Swiss group Alimenta, is based in Romania. Since 2001, it has focused its activities on oilseed crop collection and processing. A leader in its market, Expur currently processes 300 000 tons of rapeseed and sunflower seed into oilseed meal for animal feed, refined and packaged edible oil, and, since 2009, it has also started producing biodiesel.

Thanks to this acquisition, operated through its subsidiary Saipol - the French leader in oil crushing and refining, Sofiprotéol has established its presence in a geographical area showing high growth potential in the oilseed market.
In order to develop its activities, Expur S.A. will benefit from Saipol’s industrial and commercial competences, as well as Sofiprotéol’s economic model applied throughout the French oilseed sector.

About Saipol

Saipol is the French leader in oilseed crushing and vegetable oil refining. Saipol, which is part of Sofiprotéol’s Oilseed Division, processes rapeseed and sunflower into vegetable oil intended for human consumption, oil meal for animal feed, and by-products for sustainable energy and chemistry. Saipol operates through seven production sites in France. It also produces biodiesel and vegetable glycerine for its sister company Diester Industry. Saipol employs 550 people and has a turnover of 1.6 billion euros (2009, excluding Expur).
