In addition to supporting research and innovation, Sofiprotéol’s investment funds aim to strengthen and develop the vegetable oil and protein businesses.

FEDOP, a development fund for the oilseed and protein crop industry

FEDOP, the 1st fund created by Sofiprotéol, is the largest.

Through FEDOP, Sofiprotéol invests upstream and downstream in companies involved in :

  • processing and using oilseeds and protein crops (57% of investments),
  • collecting and marketing crop production (16%),
  • animal nutrition (11%),
  • seeds and biotechnology (9%),
  • investment funds and other activities (7%).

FASO, a strategic action fund for oilseeds and protein crops

Maintained by oilseed and protein crop producers, this fund finances industry promotion as well as research and development (R&D).

FEDIL, a multi-industry development fund for dairy companies

Dairy companies are the primary market for oilseed cakes. The multi-industry dairy collective has entrusted Sofiprotéol with managing FEDIL in order to benefit from its expertise in matters of financial fund management.

FSRSO, support fund for oilseed research

Sofiprotéol created this fund in 2008 to intervene in targeted projects of strategic interest to the industry (e.g., selecting varieties that increase oil production per hectare, while respecting the principles of sustainable agriculture).

Agro Invest, an investment fund for the agri-food sector

Agro Invest’s mission is to support leading agribusiness companies in their R&D efforts and to encourage the emergence of powerful industry players through mergers.

When Agro Invest was launched in 2008, the fund acquired 3 shareholdings in dairy products and pet nutrition. These purchases support activities that have direct or indirect repercussions for the oilseed and protein crop industry.

Creagro, venture capital for the agri-food sector

Sofiprotéol is one of the founding shareholders of Creagro, a venture capital company that invests in innovative agribusiness and agri-food companies.

Creagro lends support to developing companies and assists them until they are financially and commercially viable. When this is achieved, Creagro gradually cedes its stake.
