Sofiprotéol aims to be involved in all aspects of the oilseed industry. For that reason, the Group began marketing oils to consumers. Its presence in this essential link in the industry’s value chain has important implications for all industry players.
Sofiprotéol entered this business through a series of major acquisitions :
- 2003 purchase of Lesieur, the French leader in edible vegetable oils, and its flagship brands (Lesieur, Isio, and Fruit d’Or),
- 2004 purchase of Puget, the French leader in olive oil,
- 2008 acquisition of Générale Condimentaire, which specializes in the production and sale of dressings and mayonnaises.
Human nutrition, a Group priority
Sofiprotéol’s acquisition of the Générale Condimentaire Group is an important step that will :
- guarantee a market for edible oils in the form of processed products,
- supplement the Lesieur product line,
- strengthen the Group’s exports.
